Job Title: Lead – Legal

Qualification: LLB/LLM

Work Experience: 3 to 6 Years

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel preferably with a background in the e-commerce industry/Fintech sector, to join our legal team at DishTV.

As the Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic legal guidance across various functions, including commercial agreements, corporate governance, regulatory and statutory compliance, and dispute resolution. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, business teams, and external legal experts to ensure the company’s operations and transactions are aligned with the legal and regulatory landscape in India.

Key Responsibilities:

Agreement Drafting and Negotiation:

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a variety of commercial and technology agreements relevant to the e-commerce platform, including master service agreements, vendor agreements, payment facilitation agreements, association/network agreements, software-development agreements, franchise agreements, sponsorship agreements, distribution agreements, non-disclosure agreements, logistics and shipping agreements, API integration agreements, risk disclosure agreements, data storage and cloud services agreements.
  • Draft Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, User License Agreements, Shipping and Delivery Terms, Return and Refund Policies.

Legal Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on Securities and Exchange Board of India (“SEBI”) laws and regulations, RBI guidelines and Digital lending, KYC Regulations, Information Technology Act, 2000, Consumer Protection Act,2019,  The Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007 (PSS Act), The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) Regulations, Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
  • Identify and evaluate legal risks associated with business activities, provide recommendations to mitigate risks, and advise leadership on compliance
  • Monitor developments in Indian e-commerce and technology laws, advising the company on the impact of new regulations and helping to shape internal policies.
  • Engage with regulators, industry bodies, and governmental agencies to influence policy discussions and stay informed on regulatory trends.
  • Admission to the Bar Council of India with 6-7 years of post-qualification experience as a practicing lawyer.
